DEVELOPMENT OF A SOUTHERN INTER-REGIONAL CHAIN TO CONSOLIDATE EUROPEAN LEADERSHIP IN FLOATING WIND AND ACCELERATING TIME-TO-MARKET FOR INNOVATION.

Objectives

The European project I3FLOAT, coordinated by BASQUENERGY Cluster, will elaborate a roadmap for innovation in Floating Wind Energy funded under the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) - Strand 1 programme and co-funded by the European Union through EISMEA.

I3FLOAT will focus on developing cross-regional innovation investments in four I3 pilot projects in the participating regions designed to address current challenges in the sector. These initiatives will address issues such as more advanced design, use of more innovative materials, improved manufacturing processes and supply chain, post-prototyping and business modelling, logistics and installation, and connectivity and maintenance.

Thanks to the continuous development of new innovative solutions, operating costs will be reduced and the competitiveness of floating wind energy will increase, while strengthening Europe's position as a leading player in this field of technology.
