Specifically, challenge 1 focuses on establishing new deterrent systems to mitigate the impact of cormorants on aquaculture production facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Andalusian aquaculture farms are facing significant losses caused by the great cormorant. In the Bay of Cadiz alone, some 4,000 cormorants consume 1.2 tonnes of fish per day, causing significant losses. At the European level, cormorants eliminate up to 330,000 tonnes of fish per year, and traditional deterrents are not enough.  Faced with this situation, the <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Association of Ac companies<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Marine Farming of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Andalusia (ASEMA) proposes<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">design<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and\/or implement<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">a<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">deterrence system based on <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">at<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">digitisation<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">y<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">sustainability<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">environmental<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">protect<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">facilities<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">from <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">aquaculture in the Euroregion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The EONSEA project combines perception, artificial intelligence and robotics with centralised management.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=\u00bb1_2,1_2&#8243;
